I've been a nonfiction writer for many years, exploring diverse topics that pique my curiosity, as noted in my first blog posting (Greetings!). I'm seeking dialogue with others committed to joining me in this exploration, sharing my conviction that different views can be exchanged in a respectful, civil discourse where we can learn from one another and be agreeable, even when we disagree. These postings depend for their enrichment on your participation: your ideas, insights, knowledge, opinions, and personal stories.

Hey, Annie. Thank you for your work on raising our knowledge and hope. My stomach is in knots but I’ll be on the phone, working it. Never more urgent to do so.

Last May my “antique 1970” motorcycle was stolen. It was in need of some repair (Triumph lol). I had even designed and built a workshop in which to do it. Today I am still ambivalent about the loss. This worries me about my ability to process Tuesday’s results if my fears of our collective insanity are realized.

Beyond Republican poll trickery and media lazy gullibility, it’s a very close election with the Democrats having the edge. Know anyone who wants to call young voters?

Thanks, Annie, for all you’re doing. There’s always plenty of room for hope!

Fortunately, George, it’s hope based on solid data. Dems are outperforming 2018 and 2020 in many states. There are more of us, so if these numbers hold up, the results will be surprising—largely due to the media’s buying in to the Republicans’ false narrative.

Brings back a song from my youth (‘about 55 years ago):
Lyrics:
Here they come
Here they come
Well, some are walking, some are riding
(Here they come, yeah)
And some are flying, some just gliding
Released after years of being kept in hiding
They’re climbing up the ladder, rung by rung
Enter the young (yeah)
Yeah, they’ve learned how to think
Enter the young (yeah)
More than you think, they think
Not only learned to think but to care
Not only learned to think but to dare
Enter the young
Yeah, here they come
Well, some with questions, some decisions
Here they come
And some with facts and some with visions
Of a place to multiply without the use of divisions
To win a prize that no one’s ever won
Enter the young (yeah)
Yeah, they’ve learned how to think
Enter the young (yeah)
More than you think, they think
Not only learned to think but to care
Not only learned to think but to dare
Enter the young
Enter the young
Here they come, yeah
Well, some are laughing, some are crying
Here they come
And some are doing, some are trying
Some are selling, some are buying
Some are living, some are dying
But demanding recognition one by one
Enter the young, yeah
Yeah, they’ve learned how to think
Enter the young, yeah
More than you think, they think
Not only learned to think but to care
Not only learned to think but to dare
Enter the young, yeah, enter the young, yeah
Enter the young, yeah, enter the young, yeah
Enter the young

That’s terrific, Roger! And so apt that young people are playing a pivotal role because they’re the ones who’ll have to salvage this sorry planet that their elders have so badly abused.

Yes, I can think of a lot better accolades for the preceding generations than:
‘Boy. Did you screw up!’

PS:
The Association- A Class Act from the 1960s, not just musicians, but harmonies and sometimes a wicked sense of humour.
Plenty of evidence on YouTube

I’ll be tuned in tomorrow Annie and hoping for the best! It will be a nerve-wracking week as I don’t expect a definite answer right away with so many saying they won’t accept the results.

Right you are, Joni. The Republicans are creating as much chaos as they can. Thanks so much. A Canadian man put on Twitter : “Canadians available for emotional support upon request.” I’m lucky enough not to have to ask!

Thank you, da-AL—though I think “obsessive” may be apt.
It all depends on turnout tomorrow. Here’s hopin’!
